Madison Gaelic Football Club
& Madison Ladies GAA
Thank you for visiting the Internet home of Madison's Gaelic Football Club, your only source for this great game in Central and Southern Wisconsin. Founded in 2015 by members of the Hurling Club of Madison, the Madison Gaelic football club offers teams for men and women. We welcome new players of all skill levels or, if you prefer to watch, we are always happy to add new fans and sponsors!
Originating in Ireland -- as you might have guessed! -- Gaelic football is an Irish team sport similar to soccer and rugby. The ball is similar to a soccer ball, but in our game, you can catch it with your hands and you won't be called for a foul! Players advance the ball by dribbling ("soloing"), hand passing and kicking the ball to teammates. Scoring is similar to hurling: a goalkeeper guards a soccer-style net beneath an upright. Teams score by beating the keeper for a goal (3 points) or kicking the ball over the crossbar for 1 point.

Consider donating to our head-shaving cause, or get your own haircut and have your friends donate to yours. Then, catch us afterward in the 2017 St. Paddy's Day parade around the Capitol Square!
Second Harvest Food Bank
Each quarter, the Hurling Club of Madison volunteers to help stock food pantries throughout the Madison area. Information about our next event for 2017 will be coming soon.
Join us today
Between our spring, summer and winter leagues, weekly summer practices & training and tournament/travel teams, you will quickly get the hang of our fast-paced game. Despite our tradition of stopping at the pub after nearly every club event, you will get and stay in shape, especially if you also play hurling as many members of our club do.
Share your email below for more information. In the meantime, catch a full match here from our 2016 Winter League, presented by One Barrel Brewing.
